About Us

Hello! My name is Carrie and I love most things crafty! I tend to try lots and lots of different crafts and then move onto another but sewing is one of the few that I’ve stuck with! I started sewing when I was really young, learning from my mum and my grandparents.

I got back into sewing when I couldn’t find anything I liked in the shops for my son when he was very young, it all seemed so dull! Then I discovered more and more fabric that I loved and my children can only wear so many clothes, so Bear and Monkey was born!

Bear and Monkey was set up at the very start of 2020 right before lockdown. This was both a blessing and a curse, you kept me very busy making hundreds of face coverings and I vow never again to make another one! 

I love being creative and making clothes for others and adore seeing your photos of your little ones in them!

As well as our two lovely children, my partner and I have two dogs and we have recently extended our family and have adopted two cats! I am also a scout leader and I do agility with my young pup!
